OMAHA, Neb. – Caeleb Dressel is headed to Olympics after finishing second in the 100 meter freestyle tonight.

Dressel was in third at the turn for home but outdueled Ryan Held to finish second and punch his ticket to Rio.

Dressel swam a 48.23 to Held's 48.26 and didn't know he had qualified until the results were shown on the board.

From Green Cove Springs to Gainesville and now to Rio, Dressel realized a life long dream.

Dressel is not done at the U.S. Olympic Trials. He is scheduled to swim in the 50 meter freestyle and 100 meter butterfly tomorrow.

He dropped out of the 200 IM this morning to concentrate on the 100 meter freestyle.
