High hopes for Jaguar fans this season

EverBank hosts Florida Blue's Family Night with Nickeloden

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Thousands of fans showed up to EverBank Field for the Jaguars scrimmage Friday night.

The game gave fans a preview of what's to come in the upcoming season and Florida Blue's Family Night with Nickelodeon make the night even more exciting.

Jaguar fans had the opportunity to have some fun at the game in Florida Blue's Nickelodeon fun zone, which included a photo booth with Jaguar props, and every child's dream of getting slimed.

Nine year old Ellie Digesare and her mother, Jamie Digesare, were two of the thousands that enjoyed the Jaguars family night.

"It gives us a place to come and hang out with her and it allows her to have some fun," Jamie said.

News4Jax was at the scrimmage and had the chance to speak with former Jaguars player Donovan Darius and his wife, Alysson, and their hopes for the 2016 season.

"I'm pretty excited. It's good to see the guys and it's my first chance to get to check them out in training camp so I'm excited about it," Darius said. "Plus the stadium looks nice, as well."

The Darius family was sitting in the brand new U.S. Assure Club seats saying they are great for the family and a great view.

"As a mom, I just love that we can come together, we can listen to music and enjoy the activities," Alyssa said. "It's family-friendly."

Fans at the scrimmage have positive thoughts on the upcoming season, including the Darius'.

Darius said his expectations are "more than anything that the Jags are consistently consistent. That's all," he said. "As a former player, consistency is the key and I think they started to build the right blocks with the guys they added plus the guys that have been around," Darius said.

The Jaguars scrimmage was a fun and exciting opening night to kick off the 2016 season.
