JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – After having Saturday off the Jaguars returned to the practice field on Sunday for day No. 9 of training camp. Here are a few news and notes from Sunday’s practice.

-Offensive tackle Kelvin Beachum dressed in full pads for practice. The Jaguars are being cautious with him as he returns from an ACL injury. Beachum only participated in individual drills. He spent the entire practice off working to the side.

-Wide Receiver Marqise Lee (hamstring) also returned to practice on a limited basis. Lee did run a couple of pass routes but didn’t participate in the 11-on-11 or 7-on-7 portions of practice. Hamstrings tend to be a tricky injury so the Jaguars are going to be cautious with this.

-Gus Bradley said it’s still too early to rule out Beachum or Lee for Thursday’s preseason opener against the New York Jets.

-Several veterans were given Sunday off. Safeties Jonathan Cyprien and Tashaun Gipson didn’t dress for practice. Bradley has a tendency to schedule days off for veteran’s throughout training camp.

-On the field Paul Posluszny put together another solid outing. During the red-zone period of practice he picked off not one but two passes thrown by Blake Bortles. There’s no question the defense as a whole is playing with more speed and causing turnovers seems to be contagious.

-Sunday was also Jaguars alumni day and many former Jags including Jimmy Smith were at practice. Last week the Jaguars announced that Smith will be the newest member of the Pride of the Jaguars.

Smith joked that he wanted to go in the locker room and grab some shorts and cleats so that he could run some routes, but he knows better than to do that. Smith also said that he was shocked how big rookie cornerback Jalen Ramsey is in person. From Smith’s point of view Ramsey was very impressive.
