Mark Brunell, Malik Jackson join WJXT The Local Station

Pride of Jaguars quarterback, Super Bowl champ join Jaguars' official station

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Mark Brunell and Malik Jackson have joined WJXT Channel 4 to provide unique stories on The Morning Show, Jaguars All Access, Jaguars Live, News4JAX and News4Jax.com.

Every week Brunell will appear live on News4JAX with a Monday Morning Quarterback segment giving viewers his unique insights on why the Jaguars won or lost their game. He will also write a column for News4Jax.com.

Brunell played quarterback for the Jaguars from 1995-2003 and in 2013 was inducted into the Pride of the Jaguars, the team’s Hall of Fame equivalent.

Jaguars defensive tackle Malik Jackson will become the only active Jaguar player providing behind the scenes stories and “best of” reports in a segment called, The Jackson Five. Jackson joined the Jaguars this offseason as one of the team’s primary free agent targets after helping the Denver Broncos win Super Bowl XLVIII.

“As the official station of the Jags, we’ve taken our coverage to the next level," said WJXT General Manager Bob Ellis. "Mark and Malik will be delivering entertaining insider stories that you simply can’t get anywhere else.  Jacksonville fans are going to love these stories. Their insider knowledge and desire to tell the story beyond the X’s and O’s is fantastic.”

The segments begin next week and will complement the reporting done by News4JAX sports director and Jaguars pre-season play-by-play voice Sam Kouvaris’ work both on TV and on News4Jax.com.
