Jaguars activate OL Josh Wells from injured reserve

OL Patrick Omameh was placed on I.R. to make room on the roster for Wells

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Jaguars have activated third-year offensive tackle Josh Wells to the 53-man roster from the team’s injured reserve/designated for return list, the club announced today. To make room on the roster, the Jaguars placed fourth-year left guard Patrick Omameh on the reserve/injured list with a left foot injury.

Wells, 6-6, 305, was originally signed by Jacksonville as an undrafted rookie from James Madison in 2014 and he appeared in 12 games as a rookie, primarily on special teams. Wells, 25, spent the 2015 season on injured reserve with a left thumb injury. He was placed on injured reserve earlier this season on Sept. 4 with a right thumb injury, but was designated for return on Nov. 1.
