3 area teams clinch spots in state championships; 3 advance to semis

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Lee edged Bartram Trail 61-59 Friday night in an offensive shootout that will be talked about for years to advance to the Class 7A state semifinals for the first time since 1996. They'll travel to Tampa to face Plant next Friday.

Ponte Vedra kept its undefeated season alive and will travel to Green Cove Springs next Friday to face Clay High in the Class 5A state semifinals.

St. Augustine's season ended at 11-2 Friday with a 28-10 loss to Navarre. 

Bolles, Trinity Christian and University Christian each won semifinal games Friday to advance to state title games at Camping World Stadium in Orlando on Dec. 8-10.

Bolles beat Bushnell South Sumter 31-26 and will face Cocoa for the Class 4A title at 7 p.m. Dec. 8.

Trinity Christian rolled over Tampa Berkeley Prep 41-9 to advance to the Class 3A title game against Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna. They will face off at 10 a.m. Dec. 10.

University Christian will take on Hialeah Champagnat in the Class 2A title game at 10 a.m. Dec. 9. The Christians routed Lakeland Victory Christian 43-13 to advance to the championship.

In Georgia, Clinch County defeated Mitchell County to advance to the Class A semifinal game against McIntosh County next Friday.
