DAYTONA, Fla. – It will be more expensive to stay at a hotel at the Daytona 500 than during any sporting event so far in 2017.
Analysts at the travel website Trivago said that the peak hotel price is $521 per night across the city's 160 hotels on the Saturday before the Great American Race.
That price easily tops the peak price for Super Bowl hotels ($379 per night) and the College Football National Championship game ($287/night).
Last year, Trivago's data showed a peak price of $545 per night for Daytona.
Daytona's stay atop the list may be short-lived. The Kentucky Derby could be even more expensive for hotel prices in May.
