Gators looking for rare sweep of Kentucky

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The winner of Saturday's showdown between No. 13 Florida and No. 11 Kentucky takes over sole possession of first place in the SEC. They enter the game with identical 23-5 overall records and 13-2 conference marks. Florida has won nine straight games, including an 88-66 victory over Kentucky in Gainesville on Feb. 4.

To date that is the Gators most impressive win of the season. Last time Florida played in Lexington the Wildcats led from start to finish. Now a year later Mike White knows this will be their toughest game of the year.

“It gets really loud in there (Rupp Arena) and it’s a great college basketball atmosphere,” said White. “I think everybody is better at home, but the places with the best environments of course have even extra advantages built in.

A win on Saturday would give Florida their first sweep over Kentucky since 2014. It would also be only the third time a John Calipari team has been swept since he arrived at Kentucky in 2009.
