New Jags DE Calais Campbell's foundation to award scholarship

Applications being accepted for $10,000 college payout

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – It didn't take long for new Jaguars defensive end Calais Campbell to begin making an impact in his new city.

Less than a week after signing a four-year, $60 million free agent contract with the Jaguars, Campbell's Charles Richard Campbell (CRC) Foundation has begun accepting applications for the the foundation's scholarship program.

The CRC Foundation will award $10,000 to a young person entering a four-year university who comes from a large family and expresses an interest in education, career, and personal goals for growth. Students must have a promising future and excellent character and submit a written essay on their future goals and how education will benefit their potential.

The aim of the CRC Foundation Scholarship Program is to be a vigorous part of each scholar’s educational journey. The CRC Foundation’s goal is to help the recipients of their scholarship succeed beyond financial barriers by providing mentorship and regular check-ins to ensure students are making progress. Scholarships are awarded on a limited basis.

The deadline to apply for the scholarship is April 21. Criteria for the scholarship can be found here.
