Mickens, who was the only player in the NFL to score a punt return TD or kick return TD in Week 9, became the fifth player in franchise history to return a punt for a TD.

“I thought to myself maybe if someone hits a line drive or something like that, he’s quick enough and fast enough to get up there and get us 10, so at least he can get us an extra first down,” said Jaguars coach Doug Marrone. “That was my original thought.  I probably limited it in my mind a little bit because he wound up taking one to the house today.  It was a good job by the guys up front.”

Mickens was originally signed to the Jaguars’ practice squad on Sept. 18 and was promoted to the active roster on Oct. 21. He began his career as an undrafted rookie on May 12, 2016, and spent the entire 2016 season on the Raiders’ practice squad.
