Union County falls short in 1A Girls Volleyball Championship

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Union County was looking to upset Sneads in the Class 1A Girls Volleyball Championship. The Tigers were in the Championship game for the first time in school history while the Pirates were looking for their fifth straight title.

Union County got off to a good start. After a quick dig off the Pirates serve, Union County got the point as the ball bounced off of a couple of Sneads’ players. We were all tied at four in the first set.

From there it was all Sneads. The swept all three sets 25-13, 25-13, and 25-10 to win their fifth straight championship. That outcome should come as no surprise. The Tigers haven’t lost a single set in Class 1A play since 2013 and their last defeat in 1A came in November of 2012.

“This was my dream team,” said Union County head coach Jordan Windham who led the Tigers to the Championship game in here first year as head coach.
