Jaguars LB Telvin Smith out of concussion protocol

Smith missed past two games with a concussion

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – When the Jaguars play host to the Houston Texans on Sunday they should have their leading tackler back in the lineup. Linebacker Telvin Smith will likely make his return after missing the past two games with a concussion.

Smith wasn’t listed on the Jaguars injury report and the team announced on Wednesday that he’s been cleared from the concussion protocol. Linebackers Blair Brown and Paul Posluszny combined to fill the void left by Smith, who suffered the injury during the Jaguars Week 12 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.

Jaguars running back Leonard Fournette has been playing through an ankle injury but he’s not expected to practice Wednesday due to a quad injury. Left tackle Cam Robinson (back) is also not expected to practice.

After missing the past four games with an ankle injury there is still not timetable for wide receiver Allen Hurns to return. He isn’t expected to practice on Wednesday.

Wide receiver Larry Pinkard (concussion) is also not expected to practice.
