Jaguars re-sign TE James O'Shaughnessy

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Veteran tight end James O'Shaughnessy has re-signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars, giving the team another option at one of its thinnest positions.

O'Shaughnessy has played in 53 games over four seasons with Kansas City, New England and Jacksonville. He entered the league as a fifth-round draft pick by the Chiefs in 2015. He has 46 receptions for 449 yards and a touchdown.

He spent the past two seasons on Jacksonville's active roster, starting 10 of 30 games. The Jaguars chose to let him test free agency, leaving two tight ends —- Pharoah McKever and Ben Koyack — on their roster. They added free-agent tight end Geoff Swaim last week.

O'Shaughnessy says "at end of the day, if I had the opportunity to play with the Jags again, I wanted to. I am fortunate that they have given me this opportunity."
