JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The high school cross country state championships this weekend in Tallahassee should have a local feel to it.

That’s because the meet is almost guaranteed to have a multiple winners from the area.

The Bolles girls have been untouchable in Class 2A, and Nease boys runner Rheinhardt Harrison is the reigning state champ in Class 4A and only getting better.

The Class 3A and 4A state championships are Saturday at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee. Class 1A and 2A follow on Sunday.

Harrison’s time of 14 minutes, 55 seconds is the only sub-15 time turned in by a Florida runner this year. On the girls side, Bolles has swept the top seven spots at both district and region with Jillian Candelino leading the way in both. Her low time of 18:19.57 is the best in 2A.

A look at the top six area runners in each classification. Times are provided by FLrunners.com.
