DAYTONA BEACH, FL - As NASCAR prepares for the start of the 2014 season with Sunday's Daytona 500, drivers are in a catch-22 situation. With practice sessions and the Duel qualifying races on deck, teams want to prepare the right way, but also run the risk of crashing their cars. If they, or any driver wrecks his or her primary car, they must start in the back of the field for the Daytona 500.

There are two practice sessions on Wednesday for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series: 4:00-5:30 and 6:30-8:00 PM. The Budweiser Duels are set for Thursday night at 7 PM. Each race consists of 60 laps (150 miles).

Six-time Sprint Cup champion Jimmie Johnson is seeking his third win in the Daytona 500. Johnson made history last year as he became the first driver since Bobby Allison in 1982 to sweep the Daytona races with wins in the Daytona 500 and the Coke Zero 400.
