A former high school football standout who was wrongfully convicted of rape joins the NFL.

Brian Banks has signed with the Atlanta Falcons after spending more than 5 years in prison.

The woman who accused him of rape recanted her story, and 10 months ago, a California judge threw out his conviction.

After being exonerated, the 27-year-old spent months training. He attended minicamps with the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks.

Wednesday, he signed a contract with the Falcons.
