Mayor Curry declares July 18 Sharks Day

Sharks honored for winning NAL Championship

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sharks wrapped up their week long celebration today at City Hall.

Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry declared July 18, Jacksonville Sharks day in Jacksonville.

Curry thanked the Sharks and called their championship a big deal for the city.

"I'm so proud of this team, so proud of what this means for Jacksonville," Curry said. "This fan base is going to continue to support you. "

Sharks head coach Siaha Burley presented the Mayor with a championship tee shirt,hat and football. Then Sharks managing partner Jeff Bouchy unveiled the National Arena League championship trophy and presented it to the Mayor to keep in CIty Hall for a week.

"When I look at this (trophy) I'm going to think about all the hard work and sweat this team put in this year," Curry said. "And we're hoping for another one (championship) next year."
