Jaguars had plan in place for Hurricane Matthew

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Before the start of Monday’s press conference Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley took a moment to thank the first responders for their efforts and assistance during Hurricane Matthew. Last weekend the Jaguars were on a bye and many of the players had previously made plans to be out of town before Hurricane Matthew made its way to Jacksonville.

Bradley and his staff kept a close eye on the storm and were preparing for the worst.

“It was challenging because you’re not only taking care of yourself, your team and your family," said Bradley. "Then we also had to prepare for if something happened and we weren’t going to be able to be in our facility. There were a lot of things going on. We’re all grateful for how things worked out.”

The Jaguars will play at Chicago this Sunday and if worse came to worse they were prepared to move operations from Jacksonville.

“We talked about going to Atlanta,” said Bradley. “I spoke with Dave (Caldwell) during the week. Guys came over and checked our fields. Everybody is just feeling good that we’re back in our building.”
