NCAA tournament: North Carolina handles Iona, 88-73

The University of North Carolina Tarheels defeated the Iona Gaels, 88-73, to advance to the second round of the NCAA tournament.

Five players scored in double figures for the Tarheels, led by Cameron Johnson with 21 and Nassir Little with 19. Others contributing for North Carolina were Luke Maye with 16 points, and Coby White and Garrison Brooks each scoring 10.

Rickey McGill led all Iona scorers with 26 points.

North Carolina, the number one seed, will move on to play Washington, the number nine seed. The game is scheduled for Sunday, March 24,
