Bortles will get reps with 1st team

Head Coach Gus Bradley said that this was planned since the start of camp

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – According to Head Coach Gus Bradley, it was planned all along.

"Our whole philosophy is to get our rookies in with the ones," Bradley said. "I believe we need to get that done this week, where we get Blake in with the ones to see how he handles it."

However, Bradley also said that Chad Henne is the starter, "100 percent."

"I just think where Chad is at right now and where our team is at right now, I think that's the best thing for us right now," Bradley said.

But the former UCF standout has been impressive in two preseason games, completing 23 of 34 passes for 290 yards and showing he's ready for the next challenge.

"There are good things and bad things to learn from and that's what I'll continue to to," Bortles said.  "I'm going to take it in stepping stones and next week try to raise the bar and be better."
