Jags wrap up rookie mini camp with record crowd

6,214 fans show up for day 2 of rookie mini camp

JACKSONVILLE – There's something special brewing in Jacksonville and Jaguars fans know it. A record crowd of 6,214 were on hand to watch day two of Jaguars rookie mini camp.

"What a credit to Shad (Khan)," said head coach Gus Bradley. "I think his vision. When I go around and talk to people, they feel so confident in his vision. It feels good. I do know that."

The Florida Blue practice fields were at maximum capacity on Saturday afternoon. The Jaguars opened a second gate midway through the practice and allowed fans on the field to watch the team in action.

"I told the guys, 'Appreciate this,'" said Bradley. "But it's also good to know for us that it should not change anything. Whether there are people here or not, we have to go out here and perform. A little added distraction for us to see how they handle it."

The attendance mark of 6,214 shattered the previous record of 2,378 fans at a rookie mini camp. It also broke the previous high for training camp of 4,500 fans.

The Jaguars return to work on May 27th for the first day of OTAs. The team minicamp runs June 17th through the 19th.
