Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette out against Buccaneers

WR Marqise Lee will also miss Thursday's game against Tampa Bay

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – When the Jaguars face Tampa Bay on Thursday they’ll do so without running back Leonard Fournette. Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone ruled out Fournette and wide receiver Marqise Lee against the Buccaneers.

The Jaguars are being cautious with Fournette, who missed his second straight practice on Monday. The team is calling it a foot injury.

“It’s the same as it was yesterday,” said Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone. “Obviously we’re going to be smart with him and Marqise.”

On Sunday, Lee was carted off the field and according to the NFL Network he’s dealing with a high ankle sprain. That type of injury would typically keep Lee out for the rest of the preseason.

On Monday the Jaguars began their second straight week of practice against an opposing team. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were back at Jaguars training camp for the second straight year. The two teams will have one more joint practice on Tuesday before an off day Wednesday. The second preseason game of the year for both teams is on Thursday.

News and Notes:

-In addition to Fournette and Lee wide receiver Rashad Greene also missed practice on Monday

-On the opposite side of the ball cornerbacks Jalen Ramsey and A.J. Bouye only participated in the individual portions of practice.
