Jaguars release LB Dan Skuta

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Jaguars have released ninth-year LB Dan Skuta, the club announced today.

Skuta, 30, has appeared in 112 career games with 33 starts, including 26 appearances for the Jaguars over the past two seasons after being signed as an unrestricted free agent by Jacksonville on March 11, 2015. During Skuta’s two seasons with the club, he totaled 55 tackles (46 solo), 1.5 sacks and two passes defensed.

Prior to joining Jacksonville, Skuta spent two seasons (2013-14) with San Francisco, appearing in 30 games, as well as four seasons in Cincinnati (2009-12), totaling 56 games played. In 2014, Skuta started a career-high 11 games and posted a career-high 5.0 sacks.

Skuta, a native of Flint, Mich., attended Grand Valley State and was a first-team NCAA Division-II All-American as a senior.
