Jaguars waive CB Dwayne Gratz to make room for CB Aaron Colvin

Colvin returns to the team after serving a 4-game suspension

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Jaguars have activated third-year CB Aaron Colvin to the 53-man roster, the club announced today. To make room on the roster, the club waived fourth-year CB Dwayne Gratz.

Colvin, 6-0, 193, has appeared in 22 games with 16 starts since being selected in the fourth round (114th overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft. His career totals include 98 tackles (81 solo), nine passes defensed, 4.0 sacks, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. Colvin’s 4.0 sacks in 2015 were the most by an NFL DB since Roman Harper’s 7.5 sacks in 2011 and the most by a Jaguars DB since Aaron Beasley’s 5.0 sacks in 2000 (his 4.0 sacks were the second-most by a Jaguars DB in a single season in franchise history). A four-year letterman at Oklahoma, Colvin appeared in 50 career games for the Sooners and was a semifinalist for the Thorpe Award as a senior, given to the top defensive back in college football.
