Runners prepare for 'Green Monster' before Gate River Run

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – No matter how much training you do, there's nothing that compares to running over the Hart Bridge, the so-called Green Monster at the tail end of the 15K Gate River Run. That goes for both veteran runners and the new comers.

With that thought in mind Marathon High teamed up with the PRS running club and came up with a great idea. Sunday was the first time in the 40-year history of the Gate River Run that participants got a chance to practice running the Hart Bridge before race day.

They were expecting maybe a couple 100 folks to show up but instead there were over 350 runners that got up bright and early Sunday morning. The purpose was to help the runners prepare mentally for the Gate River Run next month.
