Softball playoffs: Trinity, UC move to semis; Baker, Creekside, Oakleaf, Ridgeview advance

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Two area softball teams punched tickets to the state semifinals on Tuesday night and a handful of others moved on in the state playoffs. 

Trinity Christian topped Episcopal 5-1 in the Region 1-4A finals to advance to the state final four next week in Vero Beach. 
The Conquerors (17-8) will face Oxbridge Academy on May 21 at 6:05 p.m.

Alexis Ross, Morgan McMillian both doubled and Reagan Griffis scored twice for Trinity. Grace Wilson had an RBI for the Stallions.

In Region 1-3A, University Christian (18-4) outlasted Tallahassee North Florida Christian 16-11 to advance to a May 21 state semifinal game against Admiral Farragut at 3:35 p.m.
 

Region 1-9A

Alexis Frazier had a pair of RBI and Serena Hernandez added another but Mandarin fell in walkoff fashion to Spruce Creek, 4-3. The Mustangs finished 24-3. 

Region 1-8A

Oakleaf rolled on in the state playoffs, blanking Tallahassee Chiles 8-0. The Knights face East Ridge on Friday in the regional finals. Madisyn Davis and Cambria Arturo combined on a one-hitter, while Katie Kistler led the offense with three hits, including a triple. Jaeda McFarland and Jaycie Brookshire added a pair of hits for Oakleaf. 

Region 1-7A

Madison Bratek had two hits and scored on a Reese Catherwood sac fly in the sixth as Creekside edged Middleburg 3-2. Jaden Marsh had two hits for the Broncos. Creekside will travel to face Niceville on Friday.

Region 1-6A

Raven Little and Brooke Michael both had two hits and an RBI apiece as Ridgeview moved on with a 4-2 win over Ponte Vedra. Tara Mcgee two hits for the Sharks. Ridgeview will host West Florida on Friday. 

Region 1-5A

A Cassidi Beaver home run in the top of the 10th inning broke up an exceptional pitcher's duel and sent Baker County over West Nassau 1-0. The Wildcats will face Marianna on Friday. Madison Lagle went  the final three innings for Baker and struck out the side in the 10th. 

Region 1-2A

Peniel Baptist advanced to the state semifinals with a 12-2 win over Christ's Church. Peniel will face Academy at the Lakes in the state semifinals on May 21. 

Region 3-1A

Rylee English, Breanna Johnson and Jade Booth all two-hit nights but Hilliard came up short to Lafayette, 5-4.
