JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - ESPN has hired Tim Tebow to be an analyst for its SEC Network.

While the new network doesn't begin until next year, the former Heisman Trophy winner and two-time BCS national championship-winning quarterback will make his broadcast debut next Monday night for the BCS National Championship game, pitting Florida State against Auburn.

"When I was six years old I fell in love with the game of football and while I continue to pursue my dream of playing quarterback in the NFL, this is an amazing opportunity to be a part of the unparalleled passion of college football and the SEC," @Tim Tebow tweeted Monday.

Tebow said his role with the network will not stop the former NFL quarterback from making a comeback attempt in the league if a team comes calling.

"Tebow's primary role will be as an analyst for SEC Nation, the network's traveling pregame show that will originate from a different SEC campus each week beginning August 28, 2014," the network said in a release. "In the months leading up to launch and after, he will contribute to a variety of ESPN platforms including SportsCenter, ESPN Radio, and the network's Heisman Trophy coverage, offering in-depth perspective as a legendary Southeastern Conference player."
