WJXT-TV4 most watched station on election night

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – WJXT-TV4 was the most watched local station in Jacksonville on election night 2016.  This was the third straight presidential election where The Local Station beat the other stations in the market.

WJXT kicked off continuous election coverage at 7 p.m. and stayed on the air until 3:30 a.m., covering local, state and national races for viewers in Jacksonville. Nielsen results show WJXT as the winner in the key 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. prime-time hours, with a 7.2 household rating and 9.7 share. 

News4JAX at 6 p.m. was the highest rated local newscast of the day with a 7.5 rating/12 share, followed by News4JAX at 6:30 p.m. with a 7.5 rating/11 share, and The 10 O’Clock News with a 7.3 rating/10 share for the first half hour.

I’m fiercely proud that we served our viewers what they wanted and helped them understand how this election affects Northeast Florida.”   

Looking at multi-platform coverage, on average there were 175,000 users on News4JAX.com with 1.3 million pageviews on News4JAX.com and the News4JAX app.
