Ashley Spicer
Reporter, anchor
Ashley Spicer, who the News4Jax audience has known for years as Ashley Mitchem, anchors the weekend morning show and reports during the week. Her name change comes after her recent marriage to William Spicer and Ashley is now a proud mother to a beautiful girl.
Ashley is a 2009 graduate of the University of North Florida. She interned at News4Jax, then was hired as the morning assignment editor in May 2010. She moved to Tallahassee to report at WCTV, but she couldn't stay away from Jacksonville long. She rejoined the News4Jax team in December 2011.
Ashley was honored by The Buzz Magazine as Jacksonville's Top 30 Future Leaders Under 30 in 2014 and was featured in Jacksonville Magazine's November 2014 issue.
She is a board member of Best Buddies Florida, a charity that creates opportunities for 1-to-1 friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Although Jacksonville is now home, Ashley is proudly from Eustis, Florida. In her off time, she enjoys the beach, fishing, horseback riding and playing soccer. She loves animals and has two Boston Terriers, Evey and Loxley.
Her teams are the Florida Gators and the Jacksonville Jaguars.
