Jacksonville resident wins $1 million off Powerball ticket
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. โ One lucky lottery player in Jacksonville won $1 million from the Saturday, Jan. 23 Powerball drawing. The winning ticket was sold at the 7-Eleven located at 902 Margaret Street in Jacksonville. The winning tickets matched all five of the white ball numbers but did not match the Powerball number. The other winning ticketโs were sold in Melbourne, Marianna, Clermont, Cutler Bay and North Port. Florida Powerball winners have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prize.

One person in Florida is a whole lot richer Thursday morning. The winning $396,900,000 Powerball lottery ticket was sold at a 7-Eleven on Bonita Beach Road in Bonita Springs, according to lottery officials. The winning numbers for Wednesdayโs drawing were 9, 12, 15, 31 and 60, with a Powerball of 2. The jackpot is now back to $40 million, with the next drawing taking place Feb. 1.
Stabbing rampage kills 4 in California
A suspect is in custody after a fatal stabbing spree in Southern California. GARDEN GROVE, Calif. - A man went on a robbery and stabbing rampage in Southern California, killing four people before officers arrested him outside a 7-Eleven, police said. The mayhem started Wednesday evening after the man allegedly stabbed two people to death at an apartment complex in Garden Grove. The suspect also lives in the complex, Garden Grove police Lt. Carl Whitney said at a news conference. In Garden Grove, the man stabbed a female insurance company employee and a man pumping gas multiple times.

Couriers with Postmates will deliver orders within 30 minutes in 27 major metropolitan areas including New York, Los Angeles, Miami, San Antonio and Washington, D.C., according to 7-Eleven. Woman claims 7-Eleven employee dumped ice water on homeless man
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. โ A woman's Facebook post, showing photos of what she said was a Jacksonville 7-Eleven employee pouring ice water on a homeless man, has garnered outrage from hundreds of people. She said the employee, who was pictured wearing a black shirt, poured the cup of water on the man while he was sleeping in front of the store. He said the company is investigating the incident, and the employee pictured wasn't working, but is still employed with 7-Eleven. Some of the customers at the gas station said they hope it isn't true. Several homeless shelters are nearby the gas station.
