Rod Stewart lawyer: Plea deal in works in hotel altercation
Defense attorneys said Friday that Stewart and his son, Sean Stewart, would not be going to trial for the altercation at The Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach on New Year's Day 2020, the South Florida SunSentinel r eported. The Stewartsโ lawyer, Guy Fronstin of Boca Raton, has been negotiating a plea deal with Assistant State Attorney Zachary OโNeill, according to the SunSentinel. AdProsecutors had no immediate announcement in the case, but did say Saturday that plea deal negotiations are ongoing. Rod Stewart punched Dixon in his โleft rib cage areaโ with a closed fist, a police report said. It was updated on Jan. 30, 2021, to correct that prosecutors and defense lawyers have not announced a plea deal.

Rod Stewart revealed that, for years, he's waged a secret battle with prostate cancer. "Two years ago, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Following his health announcement, Stewart urged men in the audience to take prevention seriously and get tested. Stewart was joined on stage by former Faces bandmates Ronnie Wood (The Rolling Stones) and Kenney Jones (The Who), who have also faced prostate cancer in the past. Prostate cancer is the fourth most commonly diagnosed cancer worldwide with 1.3 million cases in 2018, according to the World Health Organization.

Stewart, 74, told the crowd he was given the all-clear in July after being diagnosed with prostate cancer during a routine check-up in 2016. Prostate cancer is the fourth most commonly diagnosed type of cancer worldwide, according to the World Health Organization, with 1.3 million cases in 2018. The 62-year-old comedian and presenter is the latest celebrity to join the "Men, We Are With You" campaign by charity Prostate Cancer UK, which is aimed at raising awareness. "A prostate cancer diagnosis is a scary thing -- you never expect it's going to happen to you," Fry said in an interview on the charity's website.
