JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 27-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a crash on Interstate 95 northbound near Emerson Street early Monday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
State troopers said Andrew Volz was traveling in the inside lane of I-95 about 2:15 a.m. when he veered to the left and entered the emergency lane. Volz struck the concrete barrier in the median and was thrown from the motorcycle, troopers said.

Volz was pronounced dead at the scene by Jacksonville Fire-Rescue.
Troopers said blood alcohol content results are pending.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office blocked the left and center lanes of I-95 for about four hours while FHP investigated.
