Motorcyclist, 59, hit by mini RV, killed

Charges pending against 39-year-old driver

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 59-year-old motorcyclist was struck by a mini RV and killed Wednesday morning in Northwest Jacksonville, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Police said a RV traveling northbound on Old Kings Road tried to turn left onto Moncrief Road just after 8 a.m. when it struck Wayne Vanlandingham and his southbound motorcycle head-on.

Vanlandingham died at the scene. He was wearing a helmet, police said.

Moncrief Road was partially blocked for several hours.

Police said the 39-year-old driver of the RV was not injured and charges are pending.
