ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – A newlywed couple who died in a crash on Christmas Day on a dangerous curve in St. Augustine had a number of chemicals and drugs in their systems, according to the St. Augustine Police Department.
Police said toxicology reports were finalized in the deaths of Trevor and Jennifer Leonardi. Both died when the truck Trevor Leonardi was driving left Anastasia Boulevard at a high speed and struck a large tree on Red Cox Drive near St. Augustine Fire Station No. 2, police said.

Both Leonardis had been "huffing," or inhaling freon from aerosol cans, police said. They said Trevor had Xanax and other tranquilizers in his system. Jennifer had tranquilizers, amphetamines, over-the-counter cold meds and weight-loss pills in her system, and had been smoking marijuana, police said.
Specifically, Trevor was found to have heavy concentrations of difluoroethane, or freon, a commonly used gas found in aerosol cans used to clean computer screens, in his system. He also had Alprazolam, or Xanax, and benzodiazepines in his system.
Jennifer was found to have heavy concentrations of difluoroethane, pseudoephedrine, norpseudoephedrine, amphetamine, phentermine, Delta-9-THC, benzodiazepines, cannabiniods.
Officers with the St. Augustine Police Department said they're continuing to investigate the crash to determine the exact speed at the time of impact and should have those results by the end of the month.
After the crash, there was concern about the dangers of the curve in the roadway. The Florida Department of Transportation said Wednesday it would add more signs, markings and reflective bumpers to make the road safer.
