JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – All southbound lanes on the Interstate 295 east beltway between Baymeadows Road and Philips Highway are scheduled to close from 11 p.m. until 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 19, so workers can install more overhead signs for the new State Road 9B ramps.
The work was originally scheduled twice before, but rescheduled.
State Road 9B is still scheduled to open later this summer.
One lane may be closed on I-295 in both directions beginning at 8 p.m. prior to the complete southbound road closure.
Motorists traveling southbound on I-295 will exit at Baymeadows Road and travel west to Southside Boulevard, south to Philips Highway, then east/southeast on Philips Highway to return to southbound I-295.
Northbound I-295 will remain open to motorists.
Phase 1 of State Road 9B consists of a four-lane, divided highway connection the I-295 east beltway and U.S. 1 at the Gran Bay Parkway, south of Bayard and north of State Road 210.
