PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. – A 64-year-old motorcyclist was left in critical condition Friday after a hit-and-run crash in Putnam County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The FHP report said Dan Quinton Calloway, of Texarkana, Texas, was taken to UF Health Gainesville in critical condition after his motorcycle hit the back of a vehicle that left the scene.

The crash happened on U.S. 17 South near State Road 19 about 8 p.m. Friday.
Troopers had no information about the other vehicle, but the report said Calloway's motorcycle was left with “substantial front end damage” and he and the motorcycle were both knocked to the ground.
Calloway was not wearing a helmet, according to the FHP report.
