Witnesses: Teen driver crashes into home during lesson

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – A teen driver crashed into a house during a driving lesson Friday afternoon in Julington Creek, according to witnesses.

The home on Crescent Pond Drive, which is a rental property, was empty at the time, and no one was injured.

The property manager told News4Jax that the teen was driving with his father on Durbin Creek Boulevard, which runs behind the house, when he hit a car, plowed through the backyard fence and drove into the home.

The driver of the other car was also not injured.

The property manager said tenants were supposed to move in June 17, but the house will need a new kitchen now before it can be occupied.

Engineers will be at the property Saturday to examine the house.
