JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Florida Highway Patrol has confirmed the death of a 41-year-old man in a crash on I-295 at Alta Drive, early Sunday morning.
Investigators said the man, driving a Nissan Frontier, was stopped in the southbound outside lane with no lights on. Another driver, traveling south, did not see the Nissan and collided with it.

The Nissan was forced off the road and rolled down a hill, hitting a tree. Fire rescue crews pronounced the driver dead at the scene.
Troopers have not released the name of the victim, pending next-of-kin notification. They are not sure if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
Lanes of I-295 were closed for nearly five hours as troopers investigated.
