ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – A driver who the Florida Highway Patrol said was going north in the southbound lanes of Interstate 95 in St. Johns County last week when her car struck another vehicle is now charged with DUI manslaughter.

The FHP said Jennifer Levin, 29, of Ponte Vedra, whose blood-alcohol level was measured at 0.153, was not injured in the crash. She was arrested on DUI and other charges after the Dec. 19 crash. She was re-arrested Tuesday on the new charge since the 91-year-old victim died at the hospital.

Troopers said Levin was driving a 2015 Audi Q5 about 8 p.m. when she collided head on with a 2014 Toyota Avalon driven by Octavie Morand.

Morand, 91, of St. Johns, was taken to Baptist Medical Center South, where she died. A 28-year-old passenger in the Audi was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and was released a few hours later, troopers said.
