JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – An elderly man has died after a crash Thursday morning on Lindsey Road near Normandy Boulevard, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Police identified the driver as Robert Mitchell Hawkins, 93, of Jacksonville.

Police said the man's truck traveled off the road about 10:30 a.m., hit a curb, went through a ditch and struck a large pine tree before it overturned and caught fire.
Hawkins was taken to Orange Park Medical Center, where he later died, police said.
It's possible the driver had a medical episode before the crash, police said. The Sheriff's Office continues to investigate.
