Pedestrian crossing ramp to I-95 critically injured in crash

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 61-year-old woman was critically injured Tuesday night when she was hit by a car while crossing the Main Street Bridge ramp to I-95, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The pedestrian, whose name was not released, walked onto the ramp from a wooded area and the driver did not see her, troopers said.

She was taken to UF Health hospital with critical injuries.

The driver, a 79-year-old man, has not been charged in the crash and was not injured.

Troopers said there is no crosswalk in the area of the crash.
