JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 19-year-old man identified as Michael J. Vecchio died Saturday in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 10 near U.S. Highway 17, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Vecchio was driving his motorcycle westbound on Interstate 10 just after 5 p.m., approaching the U.S. Highway 17 exit, when he drove out of the far left lane and struck a concrete barrier and a light pole, officials said.
Vecchio was taken to UF Health Jacksonville, where he was pronounced dead.
Troopers said Vecchio was wearing a helmet.
