JACKSONVILLE, Fla – Two semitrucks crashed on northbound Interstate 95 near State Road 16 Thursday, seriously injuring one of the drivers and causing major traffic delays, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Cargill Pusey, 27, of Clewiston, Florida, and William Riley Maloy, 67, of Avon Park, Florida were both driving semis northbound on Interstate 95 when Maloy rear-ended Pusey as he tried to merge back onto the interstate from the outside shoulder, troopers said.

The crash forced officials to close down the center and outside lanes for over four hours.

Maloy suffered serious injuries and was taken to Baptist Medical Center South for treatment.

Pusey was uninjured in the crash, but his passenger, 57-year-old Erick Beckford, suffered minor injuries. He was taken to Baptist Medical Center South for treatment.
