Highway horror: Flaming pumpkins jam Florida traffic

Driver was not injured, FHP says

PACSO COUNTY, Fla. – A tractor trailer hauling pumpkins on Interstate 75 erupted into flames after colliding with a guardrail on the exit ramp Friday morning in Pasco County, WKMG reports.

Officials said the tractor trailer was traveling south around 4:30 a.m. when the collision happened near the State Road 52 exit causing the trailer to erupt into flames after it came to a complete stop.

The driver was not injured, Florida Highway Patrol said. 

The southbound lanes of I-75 are closed and traffic is being diverted to State Road 52. 

Officials said extensive roadway repairs need to be made and traffic will be diverted around the crash.
