Police: 2 women killed when SUV hit car running red light

Car overturns, 2 others injured near West Moncrief, New Kings roads

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Two Hilliard women died and two other people were injured Saturday afternoon when a car that ran a red light was struck by an SUV at the intersection of West Moncrief and New Kings roads, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said.

Officials said the car going north on New Kings Road drove through a red light trying to turn onto West Moncrief Road and was hit by the SUV, police said. The impact forced the SUV to overturn and crash into a traffic pole and knocking out a traffic control box.
