FHP: Woman hit, killed while crossing road in Wesconnett

Troopers say charges are pending against 69-year-old driver

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Jacksonville woman died Tuesday morning after she was hit by a car in Wesconnett, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said a 68-year-old woman was hit by a Nissan Altima at 7 a.m. at the intersection of 103rd Street at Wesconnett Boulevard. The woman, later identified as Mizpah Warren, was transported to Orange Park Medical where she died, according to FHP.

Troopers said the driver, Lonzie Morman, 69, was not injured. According to the FHP report, alcohol was not a factor in the crash, but charges are pending.

During the investigation, 103rd Street was blocked from Wesconnett to Blanding boulevards until just after 10 a.m.
