JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The driver of a pickup truck hit a pedestrian Friday morning on Lenox Avenue, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said.
Police said the man was walking across the road to get to work, and a driver coming around a curve in the dark struck him about 6:35 a.m. on Lenox Avenue northeast of Edgewood Avenue in the Murray Hill neighborhood.

He was taken to UF Health with critical injuries, according to Jacksonville firefighters.
The driver remained at the scene and was cooperating with the investigation, police said.
Roads, including parts of Edgewood and Lenox avenues, were blocked in the area. Check the map below for detours.
