Car sought after pedestrian killed in downtown hit-and-run


JACKSONVILLE, Fla., – Officers with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office on Friday night released a photo of a car sought in connection to a deadly hit-and-run.

Police said James Monroe Haney, 63, was struck early in the morning March 10 while he was walking along Union Street near the intersection of North Liberty Street. The driver of the vehicle continued east on Arlington Expressway.

According to investigators, Haney was walking on the sidewalk before walking into an eastbound lane, when he was struck. A witness described the car as a white Toyota Camry, which is believed to have damage to the front bumper, hood, windshield and roof.
