JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – An elderly woman was struck by an SUV and later died from her injuries on Sunday night, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Around 8 p.m., investigators were called to the scene near the intersection of Merrill Road and University Boulevard not far from Jacksonville University.

According to the Sheriff's Office, the woman, who was using a walker, was not in a crosswalk when she was hit. She was not immediately identified.
The driver of the SUV stayed at the scene and was cooperating with investigators, police said.
