Downtown building fire affecting traffic on West Union Street

Downtown drivers will need to avoid West Union and Main streets Monday because of an abandoned building that caught on fire. Firefighters were dispatched to the vacant building right by the 7-Eleven downtown. The fire is under control but several engine trucks and crews are in the area and drivers may need to take a detour until the scene is clear.

 All lanes of West Union Street between North Laura Street and North Main Street reopened just before 7:30 a.m.
